No password sharing — access by token handoff
Birdie signs in with passwordless magic links, so there's no password to hand over — and we'd never ask for one. Instead, one of your admins pastes a short-lived session token from their own logged-in Birdie browser session. It's validated once, used for the import, and expires by itself within hours.

Staff aren't copied across as data. Your team is set up through CareOS recruitment and compliance, so right-to-work, training and documents start verified rather than inherited.
Billing & funding setup
Funding arrangements are flagged during the import but set up fresh in CareOS finance, so rates, funders and invoicing start clean rather than carrying over old quirks.
Anything that fails to download
If an individual document can't be fetched from Birdie, we tell you exactly which one so you can download it manually — nothing silently disappears.
Switching from Birdie — common questions
Do we have to share our Birdie password?
No — and you couldn't if you wanted to: Birdie uses passwordless magic-link sign-in. Access is granted by an admin pasting a short-lived session token from their own logged-in browser session. It's used for the import and expires on its own within hours.
Are medications safe to import?
Medications come across with their dosing schedules, times and PRN flags, and every imported medication carries an instruction to verify it against your MAR before it's administered. Your team reviews the full list before switchover — imported data never replaces a human check on something safety-critical.
Do we lose our CQC history when we leave Birdie?
No. Your current records move into CareOS, and your historical audit trail remains in Birdie — care records have multi-year retention requirements, so before you close the account, export anything you're required to retain. We walk through exactly what to export on your migration call.
How long does moving from Birdie take?
Most providers are live within days, not weeks. The import itself typically runs in hours; the rest of the time is your team reviewing the migrated records and choosing a switchover date that works for your rota.
